Libretto for AI assistants
Libretto runs an MCP server, so an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can look up Swiss vehicle data itself instead of guessing: type approvals, VINs, the Energieetikette, cantonal tax, real-world consumption and how many cars of a year are still on the road. No account, no key.
The endpoint
https://mcp.libretto.ch/mcp
Streamable HTTP, read-only, rate-limited per IP. Every answer names its source, so the assistant can cite it.
What it can look up
tg_lookup- The full factory specification behind a Swiss type approval (Typenschein) code.
vin_decode- Matches a VIN against the Swiss type approval register and lists the candidates.
catalog_search- Finds makes and models, and the type approval codes the other tools take.
energy_label- The Energieetikette class, on the scale of the registration year and on today’s.
canton_tax- The annual vehicle tax in one canton, or compared across all 26.
realworld_consumption- What a type really uses, from the on-board counters of 7.7 million vehicles.
survivors- How many cars of a model year are still registered, at every census since 2011.
cost_estimate- Value and running cost in CHF per kilometre, with every assumption stated.
Connect it
Claude (web, desktop, mobile): Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector, then paste the URL.
Claude Code, in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http libretto https://mcp.libretto.ch/mcp
Any other MCP client: add a remote server with this URL. It needs no sign-in.
Your own garage
https://mcp.libretto.ch/mcp/garage
With a Libretto account, connect the garage endpoint instead. You sign in once, and the assistant can read your cars, journal and reminders and add entries. You confirm every change, and it cannot delete anything.
